Through disassembling, modifying, and building upon manufactured objects, my practice explores the dissonances between the familiar and unfamiliar aspects of everyday life. Ethics are foregrounded here as recent works examine animal agriculture as an instance in which the detachment between production and consumption causes instrumental pain and suffering. Through sculpture, installation, and video, I further explore how systems of communication, technology, and power promote and sustain this distance. I have curated and exhibited throughout New York, including at John Street Gallery, Brooklyn Waterfront Arts Coalition, and 205 Hudson Gallery. I received my BS in Industrial Design and am currently pursuing my MFA in Sculpture at Hunter College.
